Encyclia cordigera is native to Central America and northern South America. The best variety is rosea which has very dark colored purple lips and chocolate petals and sepals. The flowers are up to 3 inches with a wonderful fragrance. It does best with bright light and intermediate temperatures and blooms in the spring to early summer months. Of all the Encyclias, this is one of the best. These are blooming size divisions.
