Brassavola digbyana (recently changed to Rhyncholaelia) is one of the most utilized parent for hybrids in the Cattleya Alliance, producing a large frilly lip and imparting its wonderful fragrance to all its progeny. It is a native to Central America and Mexico and is often found in dry, harsh conditions. The flowers are up to five inches with a large frilly lip and they have a wonderful night fragrance. Grow them like Cattleya, bright light to 3000 footcandles and intermediate to warm, 50F to 90F with a definite winter rest. Ours are blooming size and are shipped out of pot.
