Doritis pulcherrima var. champornensis is found throughout all of Southeast Asia at 300 to 4000 foot elevations and requires even watering and fertilizer through out the year. Grow as you would for Phalaenopsis except it needs bright light to flower well, up to 2500 footcandles. The plant itself is more on the compact size, the sequential blooming inflorescence can get to be 3 feet tall with 10 + flowers open at a time. The flowers have a brilliant, iridescent sheen to them and it has been used extensively for hybridizing with Phalaenopsis. These are blooming size divisions.
